Citrix Receiver instructions for Lab Med and UW Med (AMC) pcs

Citrix Receiver is already installed on your pc. Bring it up by going to Start Menu> All Programs> Citrix Receiver.

First time usage

1.Enter the following server address in the Add Account box: https://access.uwmedicine.org. Click Add button.

2.Log on with your UW Medicine (AMC) acct. Make sure to use this format: amcusername. Click Log On button.

3.Choose AMC Default Site and click Select button. Log in with AMC acct again if prompted. Click OK if needed.

4.Click the + sign.

5.Click All Applications, then click Sunquest. This will add a shortcut to the Citrix Receiver window. Repeat for EPIC Hyperspace or ORCA Powerchart if desired.

6.To use GUI, click the Sunquest icon.

Subsequent use

Open Citrix Receiver and log on with UW Medicine (AMC) acct. Click Sunquest shortcut icon.

Troubleshooting

SMART SPOT routing and printing settings

By default, GUI does not have SMART settings configured. Before you can use Gen Lab or SMART, you must configure SMART settings. If you do not, you will get an error message and your routing will be incorrect.

First, look up your SMART SPOT info.

Next, configure SMART settings.

1.Log onto GUI.

2.Open SMART module.

3.Go to Maintenance menu and choose Options.

4.Click Select Printer button.

5.Enter printer number and click OK.

6.Choose your Default SPOT and Default Start SPOT from the drop-down menus.

7.Click OK.

Note that this will only set your SMART SPOTs temporarily. For a permanent change, send an email to listest@uw.edu. Include your contact info, your lab location, your computer’s name, and your preferred SMART printer.

GUI application freezes or crashes

If a GUI application malfunctions or becomes unresponsive, you may have to force quit.

What Is Citrix Receiver

1.Right click on the Citrix Receiver icon in the lower right hand corner of your computer screen and choose Connection Center. If you don’t see the Citrix icon, then it may be hidden. Click the up arrow to show hidden icons.

2.Click the + next to the Sunquest server name (IV-CTX-SUNLAB1-4).

3.Highlight the crashed app, then click Terminate button.

4.Switch back to GUI and exit. Then switch back to Citrix Connection Center, click on Sunquest server name, and click Log Off button.

Note: If you are unable to exit GUI, switch back to Citrix Connection Center, click on Sunquest server name, and click Disconnect button. Then log back onto Citrix and try to exit GUI and log off Citrix again. You may need to repeat this process more than once to resolve. Also note that Citrix Connection Center may initially appear blank upon reconnection- you may have to wait a few minutes for your connection to show up so you can disconnect or log off.
